As the clocks spring forward, our moods are brightening and so too are our bookshelves as April is set to be full of fun, and colourful releases. There’s a string of romcom novels heading our way, perfect for escaping to for a few hours, or for stocking up for that summer holiday (it’s coming soon, we promise). There’s a number of coming of age novels, we couldn’t put down The Life Cycle of the Common Octopus by Emma Knight, and we’re already looking forward to deep diving into Fish Tales by Nettie Jones, a novel first published in 1984 that is getting its first UK release later this month, and set in 1970s New York. Whatever your reading vibe, you’re sure to find something to add to your TBR in our roundup of the best books coming out in April below.

Lila Crayne is one of the biggest stars on the planet. She’s just moved in with her fiancé, Kurt, an older and legendary Hollywood director. As they begin work adapting F. Scott’s Fitzgerald’s Tender is The Night, Lila starts secretly working with a therapist Jonah. As the novel progresses so too do the secrets, lies and burning passions. You’re not sure who to believe or trust, but one thing is for sure: you won’t see the ending coming.

Released on 3 April
